NAUTICAT 33 MOTOR SAILER - a very special vessel just completing a 3 year complete overhaul - structural and mechanical. The owner engaged a surveyor to oversee the refurbishment program and which has only just been completed. The iconic Nauticat 33 Mk. 11 has always been classed as a quality motor sailor well-liked by those who want to sail effectively but with comfortably accommodation. FOREPEAK CABIN with twin berths, shelving above and storage below. Access to the anchor locker forward. HEADS (P) with sea toilet and wash/and basin plus hanging locker opposite (S). MAIN SALOON with dinette (P) in 'U' form, the central table lowering when used as a double berth. Lockering above and additional storage below the seating area. GALLEY (S) with Mobilife cooker (oven and hob), stainless steel sink with pressurised H/C + microwave oven + Norcold Tek 11 refrigerator. Companionway to: WHEELHOUSE with helm console to port traditionally laid out with all instrumentation close at hand, hydraulic steering and single lever engine control. Electronic instruments are conveniently displayed for the helmsman and there is an upper console for other instrumentation. The sliding roof operates above the helm and access to the deck (P&S) by sliding doors. Seating is provided behind the helm position across the rear bulkhead with access to the MASTER CABIN offset (S) with two berths and hanging locker. the DECK AREA has a raised area aft with second steering position central against the rear of the wheelhouse. All sail controls are accessible from this position including the electric furling mainsail, furling genoa and mizzen. Deck boxes provide storage for warps and fenders when not in use. The deck area is bounded by a secure railings with teak capping extending around the vessel including the extended pulpit. The accommodation has varnished joinery and Teak and Holly flooring throughout (wheelhouse replaced 2021). Hull sides and deckhead has vinyl decorative panels and soft furnishing in each cabin. FORD LEHMAN 90hp diesel engine and reduction gearbox connected directly to the shaft and 3 blade propeller. Engine: refurbishment program: The engine was removed from the vessel and rebuilt with all suspect components replaced including crankshaft reground, valves reground/replaced, fuel pump recalibrated, lift pump replaced, and exhaust system upgraded including new outlet, starter motor rebuilt, alternator upgraded, new wiring loom, engine mounts replaced, new engine seacocks & piping, clips, etc., Transmission tested with new oil. Compartment and engine/transmission fully painted before reinstallation. Engine controls serviced and new cables fitted. Engine Exhaust system: replaced with new waterloc and anti-syphon loop, pipework and outlet fitting. Engine Hours: minimal since refurbishment Fuel Capacity: 600 litres in two stainless steel tanks Fuel system: Solid and flexible pipework replaced, filter system serviced and tested. Water Capacity: 250 litres Holding Tank: 60 litres Stern Gear: New shaft and half coupling with R&D plus a Tides dripless seal fitted. Engine alignment checked on installation. New 'P' bracket cutlass bearing and propeller fully refurbished. Steering System: Lower helm unit refurbished, new flexible pipework to the system, new autopilot isolator valves and bypass, new steering ram, new rudder thrust washers and lower bearing. Sea Cocks: all replaced with DZR/bronze together with clips, etc. Domestic Plumbing and Black water system: Most pipework replaced, anti-syphon loops added, macerator pump with deck pump out, shower pump and discharge, black water tank checked.

Hull refurbishments included - gel coat stripped below waterline and grit blasted, filled and faired and over-sheathed with GRP roving using epoxy resin and overcoated with 5 coats of Gelshield epoxy prior to antifouling. All work was monitored and supervised by an attendant surveyor to ensure laminates were dry to accept the new coatings. Hull topsides and masts were two pack painted (dark blue) with boot top line. The aging teak deck is being replaced with light grey Treadmaster (2023)
